This month Chett turned 2 months old and weighed a whopping 13 pounds!! He was in the 75th percentile for his weight and the 22nd percentile for his height. I couldn’t help but laugh when I heard that! He is so round and chubby and I just love it!
Poor guy got poked 5 times at his 2 month appointment! I guess they ran out of the vaccines that are a combination so he had to get poked more than most babies. Jade, his cousin that is a couple weeks older than him, goes to the same doctor and she only got poked three times at her 2 month appointment! I was a little upset for him, but what can you do?
The White clan got together for family pictures so we would have a picture of everyone together before Jordan left for his mission. A family friend, Walfri, took the pictures for us and they turned out great! I don't have the one of the whole group, but here is our family:
All the kids went swimming in the little pool and played for a while after pictures.
Noah was tired...LOL!
We decided the weekend before school started to take the kids to the Springfield zoo. We didn’t take many pictures while we were there simply because we have been there so many times.
Aspen’s first day of school was great! I took her to school and picked her up and she had a wonderful time! She loves her teacher and has friends in her class from JumpStart.
On the second day of school I decided that I would take her there, but she would ride the bus home. What a fiasco!!! She got to the bus that she needed after school and was sat down, waiting to get going, sitting by some kids from church that she knew when one of the teachers got on the bus and started pulling kids off because “there were too many kids on the bus”. Aspen was one of the kids that got pulled off the bus. By this time I was standing at the bus stop by our house waiting for her to get there. My phone rang and it was her school. They told me that Aspen was taken off the bus because there were too many kids on the bus so they took sibling groups off…??? Aspen is my only child in school so why in the world did she get taken off?! They proceeded to tell me that she was waiting at the school for me to come pick her up. I still had daycare kids at the house and didn’t have enough room in the car to go pick her up even if I wanted to, which I told the lady on the phone. Then she tells me that the kids from church that Aspen was sitting by on the bus also got taken off the bus and their mother was coming to pick them up so she would ask their mother if she could drop Aspen off to me. I know the mom and we live close to each other, so that was fine with me. After about 5-10 minutes I had some daycare parents come and pick their kids up so I had enough room in the car to go get Aspen now. So, I hurried and called the school to make sure my church friend hadn’t picked all the kids up yet and was informed that they had put Aspen on another bus WITHOUT CALLING ME FIRST!!! “WHAT! What bus is she on?” I asked. “Umm, I’m not sure.” “Well, what time will she be at the bus stop?” I said. “I don’t know. Somewhere in the next 30 minutes to an hour.” UGH!!!! So, I went back to the bus stop and waited, and checked every one of the 12 buses that stopped at the stop to see if Aspen was on it, and each time I was disappointed and more and more worried. After about 45 minutes of standing at the bus stop I just happened to look down the road toward the house (I was worried that my last daycare mom would show up to pick up her daughter and we wouldn’t be there) and saw a bus parked at my driveway. My stomach dropped because they will not let kindergarteners get off the bus by themselves, which is great, but if a parent isn’t there to get them off the bus they simply take them back to the school. So, I started running as fast as I possibly could down the road pushing the stroller and dragging Hadley and the daycare girl (Hadley’s age) behind me. It had to be quite the sight to see, really! I made it to the bus, out of breath and quite flustered , to find Aspen bawling her eyes out and dry heaving because she was so upset. Poor girl! I got her in the house and calmed down a bit and then the momma bear in me came out! I got on the phone with the principal and superintendent so fast it would have made your head spin! I was outraged! How dare they take my daughter off the bus in the first place and then tell me that they were going to do one thing with her and then stick her on another bus without letting me know first?! I made it very clear that they are NEVER to take her off the bus again without asking my permission first! She is not in a sibling group, she is in fact my only child attending school!!! Rrr! I still get so mad just thinking about it! Can you tell?? Anyways, after that day the bus riding experience has been a lot better and she actually enjoys riding it. Our neighbors across the street have a granddaughter that rides the same bus as Aspen and has taken her under her wing and made sure she gets where she needs to be and gets off at the right stop. I am so thankful for Emma and so is Aspen!
I started selling Mary Kay this month in the hopes that I can stop doing daycare. Since Chett has been born and Aspen has started school I have really wanted to get rid of daycare. I want my house back and I want my free time with my kids back! I want to have the option to go pick Aspen up from school if I want to and go to her school assemblies and class parties. Right now, that is not an option and I hate it! So, I had been praying for something, anything to replace that income and I got a call from a lady in my ward to listen to a marketing call and ended up joining. I keep praying that it will work out and so far it hasn’t been too bad. No, I am not making enough yet to replace my daycare income, but you have to start somewhere. My goal is to be done with daycare by Christmas. It will be my own present to myself :-) I will get my house and free time back. YAY!!
That’s all for this month. Here are our random pictures and videos…
Chett has started "talking" a bit.
