Can I just start off by saying how beautiful my girls are? I can’t believe how fast they are growing up! I am enjoying every minute of watching their little personalities blossom and shape them into wonderful little girls. I love them so much!
At the beginning of the month we decided one Saturday that it would be fun to take the girls to Springfield. We wanted something fun to do for the day so we decided we would go to Bass Pro Shops and let dad get his fix and then take the girls to the little animal exhibit that they have and then we were going to take them to Incredible Pizza for dinner. We got to Bass Pro and immediately noticed the construction going on at the animal exhibit…UH OH! Apparently we weren’t very good planners because the animal exhibit is closed “until further notice”…whoops! So, instead of telling the girls that it was closed and dealing with whiney kids the rest of the day, we decided to omit the truth and tell them that the animals we saw around the store were the animals we came to see…hee hee sneaky parents!
So, we got done at Bass Pro and it was WAY too early for dinner, so we wasted some time at the mall and then headed over to Incredible Pizza. We had heard a lot of good things about the place so we kind of had high expectations. Let me just say…they were not met! Don’t get me wrong, the kids had fun! It just wasn’t worth the money or the drive up there by any means! As we were leaving the girls decided they wanted their faces painted by the clowns at the door and then we headed home.
They were so pooped! They both fell asleep within minutes in the car!
A few days later it snowed a little bit (enough to make a footprint) and the girls were just DYING to go outside and play in it! So, as soon as dad got home (mom didn’t have daycare for the day…YAY!) we all went outside to play in the little bit of snow there was. The girls built a little snow/grass man and had fun being pulled by daddy on the sled.
In our backyard there was a makeshift ramp made out of dirt pileup (from getting our sewer fixed last year) and snow that they had fun going over on the sled. Aspen wanted to keep trying to get higher and higher!
Then, on Valentine’s Day, we had our ultrasound to find out what we are having. And the verdict is….it’s a BOY!!! YAY!!! We couldn’t be more excited!

I thought Brevin was going to crawl out of his skin waiting for the ultrasound technician to finally tell us boy or girl and then when she finally said “boy” he about shouted for joy and passed out all at the same time! LOL!! Our little guy was snuggled into the placenta so it was hard to get a good face shot, but we got some good profiles and got to watch him move around quite a bit. The girls thought that because he looked like a normal size baby on the “TV screen at the doctor’s” that it was time for him to come out and we needed to have a party for him. Time is so hard to explain to a 3-year-old! I think Aspen is catching on that he won’t be here till Summer, but Hadley still asks to hold him. She even thinks that she can hear him crying sometimes…silly girl!
That evening after our ultrasound, my mom offered to watch the girls so we could go out to celebrate having a boy and Valentine’s Day. We went to Logan’s for dinner because I was craving ribs! It was so delicious, but I wish I had gotten a full rack instead of just half! I ordered a slice of cheesecake for dessert and Brevin informed me that I was entitled to whatever I wanted to eat now because we were having a boy…MEN! LOL!
As of the 18th I was 20 weeks along.

Of course after finding out it was a boy I HAD to go shopping! Isn’t this little onesie cute?!
We went to Cracker Barrel one day to look for baby clothes and to eat lunch and found this silly little hat…
The girls thought it was hilarious, but Hadley refused to put it on her head!
Jordan had a birthday this month, so the whole family came down for a little party. Brevin had big plans to shove his face in the cake, but it didn’t work out too well…
After I stopped recording Tina grabbed the cake and asked Jordan if he knew what kind it was and then proceeded to throw the entire thing at him across the kitchen! If only I had kept filming for 2 more minutes!!! It wasn’t a direct hit, so the next little while was full of everyone trying to get Jordan’s face smeared with cake, It was a lot of fun!
One extremely warm Saturday, we decided to take the girls to the park over by the old St. John’s Hospital that the Extreme Makeover crew redid. That park is AWESOME!! After we played there for a while, we took the girls to the park behind Toys R Us to let them practice riding their bikes on the tennis court. They are getting so good at riding their bikes!
Aspen had already decided to put her bike up and go play on the playground when I got the camera out. She is riding her bike without training wheels now and does a very good job!
We have been doing a little Spring Cleaning around the house and getting rooms situated for when the baby comes. We got the girls a bunk bed and put the crib up. The only things we need now are a changing table pad, diapers/wipes, and more newborn and older clothes for the little guy!
Here are just some silly pictures of the girls throughout the month…
