Family Fun

We had fun last night making silly faces. It looks a little like torture in some pictures, but I assure you we were all laughing our butts off!

December 2010

This month was quite busy to say the least...two birthdays, daycare, Christmas with both families, work, and crafts! We started off the month with Brevin's 29th birthday on the 1st. He and I went to dinner at Lone Star in Springfield...YUMMY!! I started making scarves this month to sell at next year's Maple Leaf Festival. I sold a couple this month...hopefully I do better at the parade!

Then came Aspen's birthday. I can't believe she is FOUR YEARS OLD!!! Makes me sad that my baby girl is growing up so fast, but she amazes me every day at how smart and creative she is! For her birthday we took her to Chuck E. Cheese to play. Aspen and Hadley had a blast playing in the video camera that puts you up on the TV, playing the games, and of course getting their prizes. Brevin, however, did not have as much fun...he got pink eye from the place! Luckily he recovered in enough time for us to have her birthday party at our house that Saturday with all of her friends and family!

The same day as her birthday party the White family had their Christmas party at grandma's house. We made gingerbread trains, the kids did a little nativity with grandma's help, we opened presents, and then tried to take a picture of all the kids in their new PJs...easier said than done with 12 kids!

In daycare the girls had fun one day playing in Aspen's new makeup set. They had to have a fashion show and show off their beautiful makeup artist skills! We also made gingerbread houses one day while the babies were sleeping. We made other crafts this month too (reindeer, ornaments, antler hats, etc.), but I forgot to take pictures of those ones...oh well!

On Christmas morning Aspen came into our bedroom, as usual in the mornings, but I guess she had forgotten that it was Christmas because she didn't seem too excited about anything. So, we reminded her what day it was and she got a worried look on her face...we had forgotten to put out the cookies and she thought for sure that Santa skipped our house because we forgot them! She went running into the front room to see and came running back with the letter from Santa so excited she could hardly talk! So, we read the letter and let her and Hadley open their presents. They were so happy with their presents that they didn't want to leave the house to go to grandma Johnson's house. We reminded them that there would be more presents there to open and then they couldn't get in the car fast enough! So, at grandma Johnson's house they opened presents and we ate lunch, but then we left because almost everyone there was sick and we didn't want the kids or us to catch it.

That night we put the girls to bed and hung out on the couch for a while. When I went to check on Aspen this is what I found... She is so funny! She has done stuff like this before like getting a book or a toy and we find it under her pillow, but the Cinderella dress was by far the funniest!

On New Year's Eve Hadley had the first trip of her life to the Emergency Room. We were all watching a movie together. Hadley was playing on the floor and meandering around. I had gotten up to get a tissue and Brevin was on the couch. Hadley started pushing on the fold-up chair at my desk. Brevin said, "Grab her before her fingers get pinched." Well, I was in the middle of wiping the snot off of my face and wasn't able to grab her immediately...BIG MISTAKE!!! Next thing I know the chair falls, Hadley pulls her hand away, and starts screaming bloody murder! I thought that it had just scared her and maybe just pinched her finger a bit, so I just picked her up and tried to calm her down. I set her down on the counter because she was still screaming and started to check her hands to see what the matter was and that is when I found all the blood! So, we called my mom to have her come get Aspen and headed to the ER. She ended up only getting one stitch, but between two nurses and her parents holding her down and the stupid mean doctor it was a pretty traumatic experience for the poor girl! Hopefully 2011 isnt as eventful as the ending of 2010!
