October 2012

I just love this time of year! It is FINALLY fall! It’s not too hot, not too cold, the trees are changing to beautiful colors and it is Maple Leaf Festival time!! The kids (and parents) look forward to this all year long! This year Katie, Darcie, Trudy and I decided we would participate in the 5k run. It was so much fun! It was nice to have people to run with and our own little cheering squad along the road.

The next Saturday after the run was the big parade that the kids all look forward to. We sat in our usual spot and all the cousins had a blast together. The day started out pretty cold so we got all bundled up and then ended up shedding our layers as the day went on.

The girls got some stickers from some people at the parade. Of course every single sticker on the page had to go on their body right then! The company Brevin works for (DYNO) had a float in the parade this year and Brevin wasn't there to see it, so I took some pictures for him. They actually ended up getting 1st place for their float in the Franchise category!

Brevin got to go hunting in Idaho with his dad, uncles, and cousins. He left the day of the run and got home very late at night after the parade. It was a long week at home alone, but we made it through and had a lot of fun just Mommy and the kids. All these pictures of the mountains make me miss Utah and Idaho so much!! We need to take a trip sometime soon!

The Sunday before Halloween we went to Grandma Johnson's house for Uncle Jared's birthday and to carve pumpkins. Aspen's is a haunted house and Hadley's is two ghosts.

For Halloween this year Aspen was Rapunzel or if you ask her “Tangled”, Hadley was Ariel,

Chett was a monkey

and Mom and Dad were slackers this year and didn’t dress up. We were going to dress up as a family again as the Despicable Me crew (Dad- Gru, Mom- Vector (the girls wanted me to be Dr. Nafario), Aspen- Margo, Hadley- Agnes, Chett- Minion) but we couldn’t find all of the costumes. Maybe we will do that next year…we will see. The kids had a blast trick or treating and Chett enjoyed himself in his backpack and just being outside. We did go to a couple Halloween parties this year too, which was a lot of fun and then we didn’t have to do as much house-to-house trick or treating on Halloween night, which was GREAT!

Random pictures of the month:

Good old Hadley! she is so much fun! She can be so sweet at times:

And then other times, she goes and makes you laugh your pants off...or hers off...slightly...HA!!

Miss Aspen is quite the character too! At her doctor appointment for her arm this month she got her hard pink cast taken off and a split put back on...don't ask me why cuz I don't want to go there! Anyways, this is her with her cast off waiting for the doc to come look at her x-ray and tell us that we were getting a splint on. She did NOT like getting her cast off! She cried and cried because she was scared that something was going to happen to her arm and that it would start to hurt again...poor girl! I do have to admit tho, the splint has been awesome because she can take it off to shower and we have been letting her sleep without the splint on too! Now she is super excited to not have to wear that anymore too. Hopefully that is exactly the news we get at her next appointment!
She got an eye patch from the "treasure chest" at school one day for being good and just had to show it off.
This is her school picture. This was taken right after she lost her tooth and she REFUSED to smile with her teeth showing because "there was a hole in my mouth, MOM!!!" Oh well, I think they turned out great!

Mr. Chett turned 4 months old this month! I can't believe that!! He is such a handsome little guy! There isn't really much more to say about him. He is growing and sleeping...A LOT!!!

The girls holding Boston and Eddie (James and Jeannette's twin boys)

The girls just LOVE holding these boys! As soon as they see them, they ask to hold them!

Daddy and Chetterbug taking a nap together before he leaves for Idaho for a WHOLE WEEK!!!

Daddy and Aspen went hunting behind Grandma Johnson's house one day. Aspen had a blast! Yes, she is sitting in the tree stand by herself, and yes she is tied into the chair...thank you Dad!!

This is a baby tarantula that we found one very cold morning on our back porch. It was still alive, but very sluggish because it was cold...thank goodness!

I don't think I could love anyone any more than I do these four people! They are the world to me!

Aren't they cute?!
